East Oakland Community Emissions Reduction Plan (CERP) Public Comments
The Greenlining Institute submitted public comments on the draft East Oakland Community Emissions Reduction Plan (CERP), expressing strong support for the plan’s community-led approach to addressing air pollution and advancing environmental justice. The comments highlight key recommendations to strengthen protections for East Oakland residents, including adopting a more health-protective Indirect Source Rule policy plan, advancing truck re-routing and enforcement, preventing highway expansion, accelerating the transition to zero-emission trucks and equipment, and embedding racial equity and restorative justice into decisions related to the I-580 truck ban. Greenlining reaffirmed its commitment to partner with BAAQMD and community stakeholders to ensure meaningful implementation and cleaner air for East Oakland.
