Dear Greenlining Community,

On behalf of Greenlining’s Board of Directors, we thank you for the incredible work you are advancing as allies and partners of The Greenlining Institute. Each of your contributions make a difference to keeping our communities strong and resilient. This year has begun with a new federal administration deliberately attacking our communities and undoing the policies developed over generations to protect our rights, liberties and opportunities for prosperity. This is a pivotal moment when we, as racial equity advocates, must unify to overcome that onslaught of harm to achieve Greenlining’s mission. That unity of purpose is something Greenlining has done for over three decades, and we have no doubt, will continue to do in the face of these ongoing challenges with your partnership.

Greenlining is gearing up to meet the challenges ahead with your collaboration. We have important updates to share. Debra Gore has led Greenlining for over five years and is now moving in a different direction.

“After five remarkable years, I’ve decided to leave The Greenlining Institute and begin a new phase of my journey. It has been a privilege to collaborate and create good trouble with so many passionate and committed individuals, organizations and communities. I’m deeply grateful for the lessons, growth, and impact we’ve shared. Working alongside such dedicated people to cultivate and continue to build a thriving foundation for our economic and climate equity work has been one of the most rewarding and meaningful experiences of my life. I am excited to step into this next chapter and continue my work to advance justice and freedom.”

— Debra Gore

We wish Debra the best of luck in her future endeavours. Greenlining’s Board of Directors has appointed Olga Talamante, a longtime member of our Board of Directors, to serve as Interim President and CEO for Greenlining. Olga is an experienced organizational leader and respected influencer throughout California with an expansive network. We know her leadership abilities and collaborative style will help the organization thrive. She is excited to join Greenlining in this new role. The Board of Directors will support Olga and the organization to accomplish programmatic goals and advance Greenlining’s mission.

“I am honored to serve as Greenlining’s Interim President and CEO and to continue centering our longstanding commitment to racial and economic equity. I am excited to stand side by side with the Greenlining staff, board and our trusted partners to meet the demands of the moment.”
