The Greenlining Institute is located in downtown Berkeley at 1918 University Avenue on the second floor. Click here for a map of our location.

Driving from the South Bay (SFO)

Via 101 North

  • Take Highway 101 NORTH toward San Francisco.
  • Take I-80 EAST toward Bay Bridge/Oakland/Seventh Street/US-101N.
  • EXIT University Avenue toward Berkeley.
  • Turn RIGHT onto University Avenue.
  • The Greenlining Institute will be on the RIGHT just past Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

Driving from the East Bay (OAK)

Via 880 North

  • Take Highway 880 NORTH toward Downtown Oakland.
  • Take I-980 EAST toward CA-24/Walnut Creek.
  • Take CA-24 EAST toward Berkeley/Walnut Creek.
  • EXIT Martin Luther King Jr. Way toward 51st Street.
  • MERGE onto Martin Luther King Jr. Way via the ramp on the left.
  • Turn RIGHT onto Adeline Street.
  • Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
  • Turn RIGHT onto University Avenue.
  • The Greenlining Institute will be on the immediate RIGHT after the turn.

Driving from the North Bay

Via 101 South

  • Take Highway 101 SOUTH toward San Francisco.
  • MERGE onto I-580 EAST toward Richmond Bridge/Oakland.
  • EXIT University Avenue toward Berkeley.
  • Take the University Avenue ramp toward Berkeley Marina.
  • MERGE onto University Avenue toward University of California.
  • The Greenlining Institute will be on the RIGHT just past Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

Public Transportation: BART

  • Take BART to Downtown Berkeley Station.
  • Go NORTH on Shattuck Avenue toward Addison Street.
  • Continue on Shattuck Avenue.
  • Turn LEFT on University Avenue.
  • The Greenlining Institute will be on the LEFT past Milvia Street.

Public Transportation:
from the airport

San Francisco International:

BART (www.bart.gov)

  • See above.
  • $5.50 one-way from San Francisco International Airport to Downtown Berkeley.

SuperShuttle (415-558-8500)

  • Approximately $35 (one-way per person) from San Francisco International Airport to Berkeley.
  • Lower fare for each additional rider.
  • Call to confirm fare.
  • No reservation necessary.
  • Upon arrival, proceed to the upper level and outside to the outer curb. Follow the blue SuperShuttle signs to our uniformed Airport Guest Coordinators in teal green jackets. They will arrange SuperShuttle transportation to your destination

Taxi

  • From San Francisco International Airport to Berkeley is about $65-85 (not including tip).

Oakland International:

BART (www.bart.gov)

  • See above.
  • $1.90 one-way from Coliseum/Oakland Airport to Downtown Berkeley.
  • Upon arrival, exit airport and proceed to the outer curb. Take AirBart ($2) to Coliseum/Oakland Airport BART station.

Bayporter Express (1-877-467-1800 or 415-467-1800)

  • $21 (one-way per person) from Oakland International Airport to Berkeley.
  • $12 for each additional person in same traveling party.
  • Reservation recommended.

Parking

Promenade Garage (1919 Addison Street)

  • Follow above directions to The Greenlining Institute up to University Avenue.
  • Turn RIGHT onto Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
  • Turn LEFT onto Addison Street.
  • The Promenade Garage will be on the LEFT.
  • Rate: $1 per 30min., maximum at $10 per day. 

Center Street Garage (2025 Center Street)

  • Follow above directions to The Greenlining Institute up to University Avenue.
  • Turn RIGHT onto Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
  • Turn LEFT onto Center Street.
  • The Center Street Garage will be on the LEFT.
  • Rate: $1 first hour, maximum at $15 per day.
