OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA – The Greenlining Institute’s annual Economic Summit shifts to Oakland this year as the organization prepares to move to a new downtown Oakland headquarters in 2015. Federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Richard Cordray will keynote theApril 4 event, which will feature top business, government and community leaders as well as awards presented to Oakland-based Youth Radioand Youth Uprising.

With the theme, The 21st Century Majority: Empowering a New Nation, the Summit aims to connect the dots between America’s fast-evolving new economy and the demographic revolution that is reshaping our increasingly diverse nation. To view the full agenda, click here.

Also featured will be the first public display of plans for Greenlining 360, the organization’s project to convert a failed bank building at 360 14thStreet into an anchor institution fostering innovation, collaboration and revitalization in downtown Oakland. In addition to serving as Greenlining’s new headquarters, the energy-efficient facility — to be built with involvement from minority-owned businesses hiring local employees — will feature affordable office space for local nonprofits, a state-of-the-art conference center, and display space for local artists.
