In 2013, major California insurance companies reported for the first time on their contracting with businesses owned by women, minorities and disabled veterans. The information was reported to the California Department of Insurance under the provisions of AB 53, Greenlining-sponsored legislation that was enacted in 2012. Greenlining has analyzed the data, ranked the companies, and made recommendations for improving the program and expanding supplier diversity in the insurance industry.
